Jeremy of So-Pi
Duplex

rue Vintimille, 75018 Paris

I've got three sons, my own and his two best friends: Max, Tom and Jeremy. They grew up together and each of them is, quite objectively, a genuine, pure-bred genius.

Jeremy chose to live in an area that wasn't trendy yet, but inspired by him and his neighbours, mostly artists, it should become what they call So-Pi today, South of Pigalle.

Edgar Degas lived in So-Pi, Suzanne Valladon and her son Utrillo used to hang out there at the 'Auberge du Clou', So-Pi wasn't baptized yet, it simply was considered part of Montmartre - and still is.

An interesting crowd of people, musicians, artisans, free-lance professionals creates the very special atmosphere of 'rue des Martyrs' and its lively environment of bakeries, Italian delis and street cafés.

When Jeremy called me in England 2 years ago to tell me he would get married to Charlie they had elected domicile rue Vintimille in a little duplex (2-storey) apartment in So-Pi. As Charlie was only 15, he explained, they'd have to wait until she could legally marry him. (Jeremy is only slightly older than his future wife, so skip your bad thoughts).

Jeremy had been a professional actor since the age of 6, his bank account was full although frozen until he'd reach the age of 18. He was a 'working boy' and it was obvious that having been a professional at the age of 6 he'd live on his own at the latest when he'd reach 15. A pure-bred genius, as I said.

After having played in "In Extremis", "Belle Grand Mère" and many other films and worked with Julie Depardieu, Jean-Claude Brialy and Victor Lanoux, Jeremy decided he'd take a break form his actor's life and start anew as a musician. You can see extracts of his films or listen to clips of his music if you click here : http://www.allocine.fr/film/fichefilm_gen_cfilm=23795.html

If any place contains the energy and emotions of all the people who once lived there, the 'Jeremy of So-Pi' apartment should be a true inspiration and source of positive emotion. The tiny 20m2 (ca. 200 square feet??) sized apartment has known a happy life.

Jeremy's rock band 'Koh-I-Nor' has had breakfast in the 1st floor kitchen there, gulping down litres of strong black coffee after late rehearsal or concert nights. The small bedroom/salon on the first floor has seen a dozen of Friends watching together '24h Chrono' or discussing music all night.

Don't worry, the flat is meant for two and has been fully renovated, nothing left of the fiestas except the joie de vivre and the inspiration.

Jeremy's and Charlie's soon to be born son was conceived there… we'll present him to our lucky clients soon.

The apartment is fully equipped with TV (international channels), high-speed internet access, phone, dvd.

To make you feel at home, we will ask you to send us a photo of your loved-ones and it will already be integrated in the decorum when you arrive. This is meant to be your Paris home, not just an impersonal hotel room.

When you book we will ask you about your favourite French poets, writers, composers, film-makers and provide you with an array of their works in the apartment.

If you want to have a chat with Jeremy or Charlie, just email us, we'll relay your communication.

You don't need to bring anything to 'Jeremy of So-Pi' except a few clothes and your tooth-brush. Linens, towels, dishes, etc are all provided. The kitchen features the band's coffee machine, a water boiler, toaster, basics like tea and coffee, spices, condiments etc. The idea is to avoid sending you shopping right at your arrival. Please fill up whatever is empty before you leave for the next guest.

We trust you will like Jeremy's So-Pi apartment as much as he and Charlie did.

Simply make your online booking and you'll be in their universe.
